Care to Learn provides financial support to you if you are a teenage parent and start a further education course before you are 20. It can be used to help fund your childcare costs and additional travel care costs up to £160.00 per week per child. To qualify you must be under 20, and on or starting some form of learning that has public funding.
In addition you must:
- Be caring for your own child(ren) - dads are also eligible if they are the main carer
- Use a registered childcare provider.
You can get more information by contacting 0800 121 8989. Your Personal Adviser and Connexions Centre will also have more information on Care to Learn. Claiming Care to Learn funding will not affect your own or your family's benefits or allowances.
You can use the library in your Connexions Centre too as it has information for you to read or take away.
