Where to get help


Manchester Connexions can help young people to make good career choices and succeed in education, employment or training. If more personal issues, such as relationships, health or homelessness are affecting your choices or progress, we can help you with these too by working with other support agencies.

If you're a young person aged 13-19 (or up to 25 if you have a learning difficulty or disability), and want advice on getting to where you want to be in life, we can help.Need to talk to someone?

If you’re confused about what to do our Personal Advisers can help you with your choices - from careers, education and learning, and finding a job to a whole range of life and health issues. Quite often the biggest worries don’t seem so bad when you talk to someone. Whatever’s on your mind we should be able to help you.

Safeguarding Children and Young People

Careers Solutions accepts its responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All our staff will therefore safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people with whom they come into contact. This will be achieved through:

  • Our Safer Recruitment policy for recruiting new staff.
  • Supporting staff by providing appropriate initial and refresher training on safeguarding and child protection.
  • An operational procedure which clearly indicates how staff should deal with safeguarding issues.
  • Ensuring company practices and systems are in place to help promote the welfare of children and young people.
  • Effective co-operation on matters of child protection with other agencies which are also working with children and young people. This will include sharing information in appropriate cases.

National Careers Service

The National Careers Service provides information, advice and guidance to help you make decisions on learning, training and work opportunities. The service offers confidential and impartial advice. This is supported by qualified careers advisers.

Everyone has the ability and potential to develop and grow in their lives and careers, but sometimes things get in the way and can hold you back. The National Careers Service website aims to:

  • help you with careers decisions and planning
  • support you in reviewing your skills and abilities and develop new goals
  • motivate you to implement your plan of action
  • enable you to make the best use of high quality career related tools.
