The Youth Involvement Group will help Connexions to develop its services to help more young people.
How we work:
- We want this group to be able to make a real difference
- We want everyone to feel they can have their say, and although much of what we do involves meetings, we try not to be dull!
- We work together as a team, and to encourage this Connexions pays for team activities like days out or going for a meal together.
Activities include:
- inspecting our centres to see if they meet the needs of young people
- looking at our website, leaflets and advertising to see if they communicate what we do well
- representing the views of young people at our meetings
- helping us to interview adults who want to work for Connexions.
Training will be offered before each activity.
- You will develop your teamwork and communication skills and gain experience of how an organisation is managed.
- You will learn obout the day to day running and standards of the Connexions service, and also its long term plans and strategy.
- All of this experience will be useful and make a good impression on your CV.
Connexions is open to anyone aged 13 - 19 so this group is too. You don't need to have used Connexions in the past.
