Adoption

If you’ve been adopted or you live with foster parents and would like someone to talk to, there are lots of organisations that can help.

BBC Radio 1 has a useful site for information on Adoption and Fostering.

After Adoption is a national helpline for young people with a connection to adoption. Ring them 0800 0 568 578

The UK Adoption Register has some information on your rights as an adopted person - so, for example, when you are 18 you can apply for a copy of your original birth certificate.

You can also follow the links to the Looked After Children/Leaving Care section of this website.
