Directgov Jobseeker Search

Search for jobs, training, careers, childcare or voluntary work on Directgov.

If you’re looking for work then the Connexions Centre is the obvious place to start as we have new vacancies coming in all the time; and once we know what you’re looking for we can keep you ‘posted’ about suitable opportunities.

Try our cnx2jobs service.  New vacancies are being added all the time. With cnx2jobs you are able to look for jobs across Greater Manchester, so if there is nothing suitable in your area you may find the right job by being able to travel a little further.

We don’t get to know about all the jobs that are going locally so it’s worth using other sources of help.

Here are some suggestions:

  • Directgov has vacancy information and if you have already had some work experience they might be the place to go to. Type 'Find a job' in the search box.
  • There are lots of commercial recruitment agencies, often specialising in a particular type of work – accounts, clerical, labouring etc, or temporary work. The main thing about them is that they’ll charge the employer a fee for recruiting you. You can look these up in Yellow Pages under ‘Employment Agencies’ or use Yell and search for Employment Agencies in your area.
  • Newspapers –  the local newspapers like the Manchester Evening News also have adverts for jobs with local companies.
